The AAWG (Athermal Arrayed Waveguide Grating) (Wiki: What is AWG?) DWDM is based on waveguide grating technology on silicon substrates which has a unique thermal-free package design. It can achieve accurate channel coupling without a power supply, software, or temperature control. It has a series of advantages such as low insertion loss, high channel isolation, and high stability. There are Gauss type and flat top types to be optional.
AAWG is ideal for increasing the fiber capacity between two sites without the need to install or lease additional fiber. The complete passive solution requires no power cables and no configuration; it is a true plug-and-play solution. he AAWG keeps the active equipment separate from the wavelength multiplexing components. It can be used in conjunction with Key2optics or any other DWDM-compliant manufacturer’s active optical equipment.
