Definition of AOC Cable: What is An AOC Cable?
AOC (i.e. Active Optical Fiber Cable), is the cable technology to make more than one optical transceivers (SFP/QSFP modules) attached in one fiber cable. It is directly attached to two optical transceivers or optical modules through the optical fiber cable.
The optical transceivers have the ability for photoelectric conversion and optical transmission functions. So the communication equipment will convert electrical signals to optical signals on one end and convert optical signals to electrical signals on another end.
